| Current database applications include:
Ad
Hoc Enquiries:
The program is designed for a user to record ad hoc enquiries taken
by phone, email or post. It is an MS Access database but does work with
just the run time files (that are also available for download). The
process of recording and responding to enquiries is recorded and measured
against a user set target. An additional database (free) collates this
data for all users.
Automatic
Time Accounting:
This program is designed to capture accurate time accounting information
by making the process of data capture so simple that even the most obstreperous
user will find it hard to argue that data capture is a 'waist of time'.
It is a simple program that sits in the system tray and runs a timer
for whichever project or task the user selects. When the user starts
a different task, all they have to do is click the mouse button twice
(1 to display the application, 1 to select the new task or project).
Only current tasks/projects are shown but completed ones can be added
at the click of a button. The collected data is available on screen
or in a printed report in a user selectable format ie last X number
of days information.
HTML Form Processing:
The program is designed to process emails that are generated from HTML
Forms by an ISP cgi script. This version works with MS Outlook 2000,
98 and 97 but not express 4 or 5. It does not work with other email
programs. The forms data is extracted by the program and stored in an
MS Access 97 database. Auto reply, auto response and mass mail to all
respondents are just some of the features.
HTML Form Test
Suite (ASP):
This test suite captures the controls on an HTML form and then creates
a table in a database. This can then be used to save a series of tests.
These tests can test the forms validation scripts and any other client
side scripting. The tests can also be used to test the application that
the form submits data to.
Web Site Statistics:
The
program is designed for a Demon ISP user to display statistics extracted
from bwusage.txt (provided by Demon for all it's users) in a graphical
format. Various graphs are available. This may be compatible with other
ISPs.
ASP Search
Engine:
Provides full search facilities for your web site. Customisable by remote
password protected ASP pages. User can do basic searches from your current
pages with the addition of simple HTML or ASP code (which is provided)
or they can use the advanced search page to specify search criteria,
and display options. An online demonstration is provided. The engine
also emails the web site administrator with details of search activity.
This is also customisable remotely.
ASP Calendar:
This is a simple ASP calendar that can be modified for your application.
ASP Web Site Size Monitor:
Displays the
folder and file content including the size of each file, the total size
of each folder's contents and that of any sub folders and the total
size of the site. Options for what is displayed. Password protection
to prevent casual surfers viewing restricted site files and folders.
Notification of file and or folder sizes by email as they reach your
pre-set limits. Useful for databases that can grow quickly or ISPs that
charge by size used and don't limit your use.
Time:
Provides two interfaces
for capturing time accounting data. 1 uses the windows scripting host
for local use or remote use on an Intranet. The other uses IIS and a
web browser for local, Intranet or Internet use. An online demo
of the latter is available.

Current utilities include:
Auto Start Backup:
This
utility can auto start your backup program so that you can run a daily
backup each time you boot your system. It works with Microsoft Backup
98, Seagate Backup and Veritas Backup Exec. It may work with other backup
programs. Place a shortcut to the program in your start up folder and
ensure that your last backup was your daily backup (this utility starts
any type of backup) and that your backup media is available. When Windows
starts the next time you boot, the utility will run.
Automatic Wallpaper
Changer:
Wallpaper is a windows wallpaper changer. Point it towards a folder
containing graphics files and it will select one at random or sequentially
and display it as wallpaper. Auto tile/centre based on graphic/screen
size and user settings is an option. The period between changes is between
1 and 100 minutes. The file name of your original graphic currently
being displayed is shown in the main window title bar and as tool tip
text for the icon in the system tray. It can also randomly change the
wallpaper once and then exit. A right click menu is available when hover
the mouse over the icon in the system tray. You can also run a screen
show of your graphics. Multiple folders and multiple file formats are
supported. Several other unique features.
Visual Basic Script For MS Outlook
Notes: This free script deletes all notes in the root notes
folder and then creates 1 note for each note in all sub folders. This
new note is a copy of the original but if it is larger than 500 characters
then it is split into 500 character chunks with the first line of the
large note at the top with a number starting at 2 showing the sequence
of the new smaller notes. This was written to assist Day-Timer Organiser®
when importing notes from MS Outlook for synchronisation with a PDA.
It is now used to support synching with a Handspring Visor PDA. It also
supports all other Palm PDA's that sync with Outlook. The script can
also be used as an example of how to automate MS Outlook. It has been
tested with MS Outlook 98 and 2000 running on Windows 2000 professional
and NT. The script can be downloaded as a zip file here.
The zip file is 1.01KB.
Form Submission:
Submit data using HTML forms either as a mass (several hundred records)
submission or regular (daily, weekly, monthly etc) submissions of the
same or similar information. |
